The Hospital Laboratories of the "Hospital de Terrassa", "Hospital Universitari de Mútua de Terrassa" and the "Fundació Hospital Sant Joan de Déu de Martorell" operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. These laboratories work in a network as emergency laboratories together with the central laboratory in Viladecavalls, they have the same analyzers and share work protocols.

The concept of Hospital Laboratory covers both Hospital Medical Emergencies and Hospital Microbiology. From the Emergency Laboratory, basic urgent determinations of biochemistry, hematology and blood gases are carried out, which also include, among others, cardiac markers, drugs and drugs of abuse and infectious serology. Biochemistry is performed with spectrophotometric analyzer modules, immunochemistry and ISE modules, and hematology with Sysmex XN systems. In the hospital Microbiology Laboratory, bacteriology of the admitted patient and urgent Molecular Biology techniques are performed, having the necessary equipment to perform cultures, identifications, antibiograms and molecular techniques. The hospital laboratory also manages POCT equipment, such as gasometers, which may be installed in different locations in the hospitals.
Furthermore, in the hospitals of Terrassa and Sant Joan de Deu de Martorell the laboratory is responsible for the Blood Bank, where the blood and plasma bags are monitored and the laboratory tests necessary for their correct functioning are carried out.
